Liverpool Gateway Inn is a trading name of Liverpool Gateway Limited (registered in England and Wales, company number 08086023, registered office 95a St Oswalds Street, Liverpool L13 5SB), which is the data controller for the information you give us.

You can reach us at 95 St Oswald's Street, Old Swan, Liverpool L13 5SB, by email at info@liverpoolgateway.co.uk, or by phone on 0151 298 2288.

  • Booking details you give us: your name, contact details, dates of stay, party size and any requests or accessibility needs.
  • Enquiries and correspondence: the content of emails, messages and phone calls you make to us.
  • Payment information, which is collected and processed by our booking provider. We do not store card details ourselves.
  • Basic technical information when you visit this website, such as your IP address and browser type, recorded by our hosting provider to keep the site secure and working.

We do not collect more than we need. We do not ask for demographic profiling, and we do not carry out automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

How we use your information, and our lawful bases

  • To take, confirm and manage your booking and provide your stay. Lawful basis: performance of a contract with you.
  • To answer your enquiries and provide customer service. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests in running the business and responding to people who contact us.
  • To meet our legal and accounting obligations, for example keeping financial records. Lawful basis: legal obligation.
  • To keep our website, our premises and our guests safe and secure. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests.
  • To send you marketing about our own rooms and offers, only where you have asked us to or where you are an existing guest and we are offering something similar. Lawful basis: consent, or our legitimate interests under the soft opt-in. You can stop this at any time.

Marketing and your choices

We will only send you marketing where the law allows it, and every message includes a way to unsubscribe. You can opt out at any time by emailing info@liverpoolgateway.co.uk, and we will act on your request without charge. We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not send you marketing on behalf of other companies.

Who we share it with

  • eviivo, our booking and payment provider. When you book through this website you are taken to a booking page hosted by eviivo, and the information you enter there is handled under eviivo's own privacy and cookie policies as well as ours. Please read them at eviivo.com.
  • Trusted service providers such as our website host, who act only on our instructions under a written contract.
  • Public authorities and professional advisers, where we are required or permitted to share information by law.

Our suppliers may process information outside the UK. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards permitted by UK data protection law, such as UK adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses with the UK addendum.

Cookies and this website

We keep cookies to a minimum. This website sets no advertising cookies, and we do not run Google Analytics or any other visitor-tracking or statistics package on it.

Two features load content from other companies, and those companies may set their own cookies or record your IP address when that content loads:

  • The map on our Contact and Area pages is embedded from Google Maps.
  • Our page fonts are served by Google Fonts.
  • Our booking pages are hosted by eviivo once you click through to check availability.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Doing so will not stop you using this site, though the map or the booking step may not work as smoothly. If you would rather not load the Google map at all, the address is written out in full beside it and on our Contact page.

Links to other websites

Our website contains links to other websites, including our booking provider and mapping and directions services. Once you follow a link and leave our site, we have no control over that website and we are not responsible for the protection or privacy of any information you give while visiting it. Those sites are not covered by this policy, so please check the privacy notice on the site in question.

How long we keep it

We keep booking and financial records for as long as we need them to provide your stay and to meet our legal obligations, which is generally six years from the end of the relevant tax year for accounting purposes. Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are kept for a short period and then deleted. Marketing contacts are kept until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete.
  • Ask us to delete your information, where there is no legal reason for us to keep it.
  • Object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use your information.
  • Ask us to transfer your information to another provider, where that right applies.
  • Withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, email info@liverpoolgateway.co.uk or write to us at the address above. We will respond within one month. There is no charge for making a request. We may ask you to confirm your identity first so that we do not disclose your information to the wrong person.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, by calling 0303 123 1113, or by writing to Information Commissioner's Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF.

Security

We have put appropriate physical, electronic and managerial measures in place to protect the information we collect and to prevent unauthorised access, loss or disclosure. We also choose suppliers who are required to do the same.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed, and this version replaces any earlier privacy statement published on our website.
